New Age purists need not fret though – there is still room for the occasional slip into that fabricated language of her making. Download Dark Sky Island (Deluxe) by Enya in high-resolution audio at - Available in MQA and 96 kHz / 24-bit AIFF. The songs, once seemingly constructed out of many samples, now seem fully developed, as songs in their own right with dark undertones, Even In The Shadows being the best example. Then of course, there is Enya's voice, still soaring, but all of a sudden it seems to have found a new sense of maturity – notes that once drifted away are hit perfectly. Enya's last couple of albums had found her in a musical rut, the same arrangements and whisper-thin vocals, and to be fair, some of that still remains, but those traits have been toned down – there is a different orchestration with pizzicato strings, timpani and some thought-provoking piano interludes. Not expecting much, I found myself enchanted with music I long thought out-of-date. Enya’s new record is partly inspired by Sark, the Channel Island that, with its exceptional night sky, became the world’s first dark sky island in 2011. The Enya creative triumvirate Enya, producer and sound engineer Nicky Ryan, and lyricist Roma Ryan started work on the album in the spring of 2012. Not unlike fellow Dom Post reviewer Siena Yates take on the Adele album, I find myself in the same position with Enya's first album since 2008.
